- >> Busy week a head..
Its official. The winter has now started for me! This week is going to crazy, first off I will be setting of to the Salomon office to pack the van for our expert program tour which starts next week. Wednesday evening im picking up Paddy Graham from gatwick airport and then were driving to Norfolk to start the schools tour where we will be educating kids about snow sports. Becky Hammond will also be doing this with us and its always so much fun and good for our sport. At the weekend its the mini Brits which is at Norfolk ski club where I will be MCing. Im looking forward to the event but im also a bit gutted as it clashes with my friends Pete and EJs wedding and I have also already promised I will catch up with family in Norfolk who I don't get chance to see too much. Then straight after the minin Brits, I will be heading to Hemel snow centre to start the expert program. Makes me feel dizzy think about it but exciting times! So for those of you coming to Norfolk next weekend, I will see you there!Todays photo is my facebook profile pic. Its from when we went to the Top Gear studio and this is me sitting in Clarkson's chair. Pretty cool.
- >> 2 years old and already skiing.
So this morning I took my 2 year old nephew Freddie skiing to the Chill Factore in Manchester. I have taken him skiing before in Courchevel which he totally loved and hasn't stopped going on about it so thought it would be good to keep him at it while he's so keen. 2 is pretty young to be skiing but he has picked it up so well and just loves it! We did an hour on the beginner slope and worked on his balance which is also very good. It was just so cool to see how excited he gets by skiing and I hope he stays this keen as im planning on taking him often now. So after are little ski I had a few meetings and now back in the office catching up on emails that im so behind on. If anyone is waiting to get a reply from me and reading this blog now, im very sorry and will be in touch soon.Have a great Friday!
- >> Mini Brits at Norfolk ski club
Next weekend will see the return of the mini Brits at Norfolk ski club. It was a big success last year with a great atmosphere and we hoping it will be the same again this year! There will be slopestyle, Big air, and skiercross events over the weekend which should attract all the British Freeski scene. Norfolk did an amazing job with the Famers jam last week and its great their hosting the Brits again!- >> At the office
Today i have been in the Salomon HQ office all day catching up on things and getting ready for our Expert program which starts next week. Were going to be on the road touring round training up people in the industry about our new products for 2010-11. I alway really enjoy this time of year and im so stoked on the new products we have to show off. I have been posting some new videos up on our facebook fan page if you haven't already seen them.
- >> More camps, new venues and dates for up and coming camps!
- If you haven't recently seen our events calendar then check it out! We have just added loads more camps at new venues. Be sure to reserve your places soon as camps have been booking up fast recently. See you at a camp soon.
- >> A year with the Salomon Freeski team
- This morning im off to Pete Cable's (Grom TV creator) house to do some voice over's for a new small documentary on the Salomon UK Freeski team that he's been making. The footage we have is awesome and were hoping to show it at the British Freeski film festival in London just before the ski show. So I know most skiers and snowboarders will be heading to Norfolk for the farmers jam today. Gutted I can't be there but im sure it will be fun! Well i better go as I have super busy day today.
Have a great weekend
- >> Britains got skiers competition
It has been so good to see all the different entry's for the Britain's got skiers competition. It has been massively popular and some of the edits have been incredible. I have a few favourites I have to say. To me the editing is the biggest part of it and the music. Britain does have so may good skiers now and Im used to seeing what people can do so not so much surprises there but when its all put together and edited well with a good sound track it can make the footage look 10 times better! Im looking forward to the premier of the movie at the Ski show and the British Film Festival where there will be other british movies shown off. - >> Farmers Jam
This weekend will see the legendary Farmers Jam at Norfolk ski club. This is one of the most popular ski and snowboard events in the UK and it brings the whole scene together for what has to be one of the best atmosphere competitions of the year! Last year I MCd the event but im at a wedding this year so can't make it which is a real shame as its one of my favourites too. We are also in talks with Norfolk ski club about running a Grom camp in December which will be great. So good luck to all of you competing this weekend. Can't wait to hear all about it!- >> The start of the winter
It really does feel the start of the winter for me now! Theres loads of Freeski events kicking off, im travelling around the UK promoting new ski products, loads of Grom camps planned and the ski shows are not far off too. Pretty crazy to think this as were still in August but its all go from here. This week im doing some filming with Pete at the Chill Factore for a new promo vid for the Suspect. Were also hoping to finish off the UK team video which we will launch very soon. Also, were going to launching a Pro pipe quiz where you can win a £100 voucher and other goodies. This will be done on our fan facebook page so watch out for that. Think thats all the gossip for now. Tamowrth on the 31st August will be our next camp as we have had to postpone the Chill factore camp again due to slope repairs. Its been booking up fast so be sure so reserve your place soon if your coming along,

- >> Salomon HQ
Yesterday I headed to our Salomon UK head office in Frimley for some meetings which was cool. It's always great to go and catch up with everyone and get the plans of action sorted for the months to come. The guys in the office are always super busy and work so hard. Everyone at Salomon are so passionate about the brand and I do believe thats the main reason for Salomon success.
Heres a pic of Cat and Richie from marketing in the show room.
- >> Britains got skiers edit by Pete Cable.
- If you haven't already seen it, here is an edit Pete cable has done of myself for the Britain's got skiers movie that Ellis Brigham are producing. We did it for a little fun and Pete used the footage we got from our trip to scotland with Salomon Freeski TV, the ski test in Italy, and some footage from the Oakley jib vid. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aoVuRTdAdW4
- >> New Grom TV logo
Here is the new logo for Grom camp TV. What do you guys think? Were pretty stoked with it!- >> Busy day on the computer.
Unfortunately I don't get to ski everyday and a lot of people ask what my normal work day consists of when im not skiing or running a Grom camp. Well to be honest, its a lot of emailing, updating websites and meetings. Might sound a little boring compared to when were away running camps or events etc but its not and I enjoy the other part to my job as each day is different. This week im heading to London for a few meetings and im just trying to sort the car out as I alway have way too much stuff in there. Checkout my awesome collection of new skis. Pro pipe, 2012, and the Suspects. Im dropping the pro pipe off for a ski test at Milton Keynes next week as its the only pair we have in the UK for demos. A few people have asked me where they can get them from and there exclusive to Ellis Brighams so pop into your closest store to get your hands on a pair. The 2012s will be in Snow and Rock and other good stores and so will the legendary Suspects. Remember, the Suspects are the skis that US ski star Bobby Brown used to clear up at the X Games.
- >> Sunday's are a good day!
So got back from Huddersfield early this morning after what was an epic stag do. Didn't feel too bad this morning too but that was probably because I was super lame and ended up in bed at 10pm. We started the day off In Manchester at 11am with a full english breakfast and a beer and then it just carried on from there. We did a pub crawl on the Manchester to huddersfield train root which was so much fun. I haven't been on a all day drinking session in along time. Well to be honest I cant remember ever doing one before so It wasn't long before I was feeling a bit tipsy. Pete who's stag do it was handled it amazingly and I don't think he got to his bed until 3am dressed in a chicken costume!Today I have been doing a few jobs around the house with my brother which needed doing. One of the jobs was sorting out Grom camp prizes in the loft which I call the Ladin's cave. I didn't realise what cool stuff we have to still to give away. On that note, I think I have also now decided on what were going to do for the iphone 4 prize but going to keep you guessing for a little while longer. haha
So now im going to chill and watch some movies and maybe have a chinese for dinner. Have a great Sunday evening what ever your doing.
